Please read these terms carefully before using PDF Hype. They are written to be clear and fair: you keep your files, and we keep the tools free and private.

1.Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PDF Hype at pdfhype.online and all related tools, pages, and content (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service is operated by the sole developer and operator of PDF Hype ("we", "us", "our").

2.Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you may use it only with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms.

You confirm that you are legally able to enter into these Terms and are not barred from using the Service under applicable law.

3.The Service

The Service provides browser-based file utilities, currently focused on PDF tools such as merging, splitting, organizing, rotating, extracting, compressing, redacting, watermarking, page numbering, and converting between PDF and images. More tools may be added, changed, or removed at any time.

Files are processed locally in your browser. We do not receive, store, or have access to your files. See the Privacy Policy for details.

No account is required. The Service is provided free of charge, and we may introduce optional paid features or advertising in the future with notice here.

4.Your files and your responsibility

You keep all ownership and rights in the files you process. We claim no license to them, because we never receive them.

You represent that you own your files or have the right to process them, and that processing them does not violate any law or third-party rights.

  • Keep backups. Always keep your original files; processing happens in your browser and results may fail or differ from expectations.
  • Check your results before relying on them, sharing them, or deleting originals.
  • You are responsible for the security of your device, browser, and downloaded files.
  • Very large files or low-memory devices may cause slowness, crashes, or failures. Processing limits depend on your browser and hardware.

5.Important notes about specific tools

  • Redaction: always open the output and verify that sensitive content is actually removed and cannot be selected, searched, or recovered before you share the file. You are solely responsible for confirming redaction effectiveness.
  • Compression: may reduce quality or convert pages to images; the result may lose selectable text or other features.
  • Conversions and edits: output may differ from the original in layout, fonts, metadata, forms, bookmarks, annotations, or signatures. Digital signatures and certifications may be invalidated.
  • Encrypted, corrupted, or unusual PDFs may not be supported.
  • The Service is not a substitute for professional legal, compliance, or archival tools, and outputs are not guaranteed to meet any legal or regulatory standard.

6.Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or deceptive, including forging or altering documents to mislead others
  • Process content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, or other rights, or that is illegal to possess or distribute
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or breach the Service or its security
  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated means to access the Service in a way that burdens it, except as permitted by robots.txt
  • Reverse engineer, resell, or republish the Service or its branding, except where allowed by law or by an applicable open-source license
  • Impersonate us or misrepresent your affiliation with us
  • Use the Service in violation of these Terms or any applicable law

7.Intellectual property

The PDF Hype name, logo, design, text, and original code are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for personal or business purposes in line with these Terms.

The Service uses open-source software (for example, pdf-lib, pdf.js, React, and Next.js), which remains subject to its own licenses.

Guides, blog posts, and other content are provided for general information. You may link to them, but may not copy substantial portions without permission.

8.Feedback

If you send us ideas, suggestions, or bug reports, you agree we may use them freely, without obligation or compensation to you.

9.Third-party links and services

The Service may contain links to third-party sites or show third-party advertising. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Using them is at your own risk.

10.Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how limited technical data is handled and confirms that your files are not uploaded.

11.Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.

We do not warrant that the Service will meet your needs, that results will be accurate, complete, or lossless, or that the Service will be free of bugs, viruses, or security vulnerabilities. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of these may not apply to you.

12.Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, FILES, PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE PRECEDING 12 MONTHS, OR (B) USD 10. Because the Service is free, this will usually mean the lower cap applies.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable.

13.Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your files, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party rights.

14.Availability, changes, and termination

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We may restrict or block access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or are harming the Service or others. You may stop using the Service at any time.

Sections that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and governing law) survive termination.

16.Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence, the courts located in [Your City, State], India will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Service.

17.General

  • Entire agreement: these Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
  • Severability: if any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

  • Assignment: you may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may assign ours, for example in a sale of the Service.
  • Force majeure: we are not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
  • Electronic communication: you agree that notices on the site or by email satisfy any written-notice requirement.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version, and material changes will be announced on the site where reasonable. Continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept them. If you disagree, stop using the Service.
